Jessica grew up in upstate NY however her life path has taken her to many different locations. In the past 20 years Jessica could be found pursuing her personal, educational, and career goals in Washington, New York, New Mexico, Colorado, Alaska and throughout the countries of Central America. In this time, Jessica traveled and worked her way through school, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from The University of Rochester and her Master’s Degree in Counseling at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM. Presently, Jessica partners with Dr. Sinko, a distinguished researcher at Temple University delving into the intricacies of the healing journey following Intimate Partner Violence. Together, they've crafted the Integrative Healing Model of Intimate Partner Violence (IHM-IPV), a groundbreaking framework amalgamating Dr. Sinko's scholarly insights with Jessica's profound clinical expertise and personal journey.
This fairly non-traditional educational path led Jessica to gain not only a formal education but an experiential one as well. It was at Southwestern College that she began to see firsthand the personal transformation that is possible when working with people in a strength based and holistic manner. Jessica not only has the educational background in working with trauma but is a survivor of Intimate Partner Violence herself. Jessica draws on both her education and personal experience of survival to support people with stepping into their power, embracing themselves, and living a life based in joy rather than pain and fear.
Jessica has experience working with individuals struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and trauma. Additionally, Jessica has several years of experience working with LGBTQ + youth, supporting them on their journey of embracing their true selves. Jessica is well versed in the techniques of CBT, Solutions Focused Therapy, Art Therapy, Eco-Therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems, Hypnotherapy, and simply holding space. There is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy and Jessica will do her best to pull from various modalities to work with you in a way that works for you!
In working with Jessica, you will discover that she works with people based on the belief that they are the experts of their own life.
Jessica does not see her job as telling you what to do, but to help you quiet the noise that gets in the way of hearing and feeling your own voice.
